School Enrolment Management Plan
Hambledon State School recognises as its prime
obligation, the provision of access to an appropriate educational service for students
whose principal place of residence is within the school’s catchment area. Because of enrolment capacity and growth,
Hambledon State School may be unable to meet this obligation in the future
unless action is taken to manage enrolments. The Principal must restrict the
enrolment of out-of-catchment students to ensure in-catchment students can
enrol at their local state school without requiring additional facilities.
Local catchment area
A school's local catchment area is the defined geographical area from which the school is to have its core intake of students.

Proof of Residency
Proof of residency is required before enrolment can proceed. Any of the following documents will need to be sighted by our office staff before we can proceed:
A Cairns Regional Council Rates notice; or
An electricity bill; or
A signed unconditional house contract; or
A Rental Agreement (stamped and signed by the real estate agent for a minimum of 6 months duration); or
A Rental Bond receipt; or
A registration notice for Queensland State or Federal electoral rolls; or
Proof of Australian citizenship, permanent resident status or eligibility under a visa category.
Birth Certificate
A birth certificate must be sighted by our office staff for all students enrolling into Prep and Year 1.

Collect the Enrolment Expression of Interest from our front office or download a copy here: Expression of Interest Form
Complete the form, collect any other documentation you need (listed
above) and bring it with you to the school for your enrolment
interview.
Enrolment Interview
All new families are interviewed before entry to the school. Please contact us to arrange a suitable time for an enrolment interview.
